Don Sorensen | Registered Physiotherapist

Don’s involvement in sports growing up was the catalyst for his career. After graduating High School he studied at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and graduated with a Diploma in Athletic Therapy. 


Catharine Sorensen | Registered Physiotherapist
BSc.P.T., C.A.F.C.I.

Catharine graduated from University of Toronto in 1997. Since then Catharine has worked in Sports Physiotherapy and Orthopedics in Toronto, Calgary and Wasaga Beach. 


Sheena Chapman | Registered Physiotherapist
MSc.P.T., BKin., C.A.F.C.I. 

Sheena graduated from McMaster University in 2006 with her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology and obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2009. She joined the Body ‘n Balance team in 2010.


Pamela Chadbourn | Registered Physiotherapist
MSc.P.T., BSc. 

Pamela graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2006 from the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2010. 


Courtney Prophet | Registered Physiotherapist
MSc.P.T., B.Kin

Courtney is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and McMaster University. She has continued her education by taking advanced courses in manual therapy, acupuncture, soft tissue release, dry needling and pelvic health. Courtney has taken a keen interest in the pelvic health field and how how to empower her patients to heal themselves. 

Andrew Ewert | Registered Physiotherapist

Andrew has relocated to the area from Vancouver, where he has practiced for the last 9 years.  He has over 12 years of experience, completing his physiotherapy training at Queen's University in 2005.  Andrew has numerous post graduate courses, has pursued training in manual therapy, is certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and is a certified Gunn IMS practitioner. 


Lipi Patel | Registered Physiotherapist

Lipi graduated from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2016 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. While in India she worked as a Physiotherapist in a tertiary care hospital. After moving to Canada Lipi completed a post graduate diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from Fleming College, graduating in 2017. Lipi worked as a Physiotherapy assistant in Belleville and Sudbury before completing the Physiotherapy National Certification exams.

 Lipi joined the Body ‘n Balance team in October 2018.

 Lipi has recently completed her Advanced Upper Extremity Complex Certification and has a passion for treating shoulder injuries. She also enjoys treating knee meniscal injuries and rehabilitating our post-operative patients.

 In her free time Lipi enjoys reading, playing basketball and travelling.


Joel Cooke | Physiotherapy Resident

Joel has been a practicing Physiotherapist in Australia for over 10 years and is a recent addition to the Body ‘n Balance Physio & Wellness team. He graduated from Wollongong University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Medical Science and completed his Masters of Physiotherapy in 2007 at Sydney University.

Abbey Parkes | Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Certified Athletic Therapist CAT(C)., BAHSc.

Abbey graduated from Sheridan College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science degree in Athletic Therapy. Abbey has worked with various sports teams including hockey, box lacrosse and football. She has also worked with different levels of athletes including the Stayner Siskins Jr, 'C' hockey team.


Katrina Catenacci | Registered Massage Therapist (Consultant)

Katrina graduated Humber College in 2013 with an advanced diploma. During her time at Humber she had experience in multiple settings such as: acquired brain injury, junior elite athletes, palliative care, infant and toddler massage as well as treating vulnerable populations such as those with AIDS and HIV. Katrina treats a variety of ailments but her main goal for you at the end of the treatment is to come out feeling your best.

Tina Leigh | Physiotherapy Assistant

Tina has worked in a variety of health care related settings, including as a physio aid in physiotherapy clinics, fitness Instructor at retirement centers and physiotherapy support personnel at a long term care center.  Tina joined the Body ‘n Balance team in February 2012. She has a passion for helping people feel better, to empower people, while creating positive relationships.  Her cooperative spirit makes her a great team player in the clinic.  She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking and the outdoors.

Maryanne O'Leary | Physiotherapy Assistant

Maryanne graduated from Georgian College in 2015 from the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Maryanne joined the Body ‘n Balance team in October 2017. She has worked in a variety of settings including long term care, clinical settings and holds a casual position at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. She has experience working with post-operative patients following hip and knee replacement surgeries. Maryanne has a passion to provide excellent client care to aid clients to achieve rehabilitation goals. In her free time Maryanne enjoys spending time in the outdoors fishing and camping with her family and dog Tyson.

Amanda Bird | Physiotherapy Assistant, BSc.(KIN), BSc.(AT)

Amanda graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2015 with a BSc Honours Kinesiology with a Minor in Psychology. After working as a Physiotherapy assistant in her undergrad, she decided to pursue a career in Athletic Therapy. Amanda graduated from the University of Winnipeg in February 2019 with a BSc in Athletic Therapy.

Amanda enjoys working in the field with sports teams. She has worked with hockey, football, and tennis at the high school, university national and international levels

Amanda loves working out and is enthusiastic about helping our clients exercise to reach their maximum potential.


David McKay | Office Administrator

David graduated from Trent University in 2007 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. After this, he completed a Post Graduate program in Addictions Counseling from Durham College in 2008. Moving to Alberta in 2009 David found the job market tough and took a job in commissioned sales. This is where he developed a passion for business and administration. 

In his spare time David likes to watch movies, read, and keep up on politics and current events. David lives in Wasaga Beach with his Wife, Daughter and dog.
