Don Sorensen | Registered Physiotherapist
BSc.P.T., A.T. Dip C.A.F.C.

Don’s involvement in sports growing up was the catalyst for his career. After graduating High School, he studied at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta and graduated with a Diploma in Athletic Therapy. After working in a private practice physiotherapy clinic for a couple of years he was accepted into the Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.

After graduating in 1999, Don took over the practice, where he first fell in love with physiotherapy at Bowmont Physical Therapy in Calgary. Not long after he fell in love again, and moved to Wasaga Beach with his new wife Catharine. He opened Body ‘n Balance Physiotherapy in 2005 and has enjoyed watching the practice grow.

Don’s treatment philosophy is to treat everyone as an individual. He also believes that it is important that patients have a good understanding of their injury or impairment and therefore takes the time to explain anatomy, X-ray and MRI reports, assessment findings, and treatment to them.  Don has taken continuing education in manual therapy, and acupuncture. He has a passion and special interest in running and running injury prevention. He has partnered with Dr. Reed Ferber (University of Calgary’s Running Injury Clinic) and brought the first 3D Gait Analysis System to Ontario. He enjoys competing in Trail Running, half and full marathons. When not running races, you can find him running after his two amazing children Aurora and Gavin.
